The Amazing Gospel Comic

I was having lunch with a local Christian School administrator. I showed him our comic-book style booklet, The Amazing Gospel, and he was impressed with the quality of it. Then our food came and I laid it down by the salt and pepper shakers. A family of six in the booth behind us was packing to leave the diner and as their six-year-old boy was standing up on the seat to put on his coat, his eye caught the comic.
His eyes were as large and bright as new Dodge Durango taillights, as his arm and finger became a straight line aimed at the comic. With his outside voice, he said "WHAT'S THAT?"
"It's a comic book. Here, you can have it if you want," I replied. Then the whole family got involved, ending in handshakes and thanks. As they left, I said, "Be sure to have your Daddy read it to you." Each one assured me that it would happen.
There are many lures and baits in my tackle box, depending on the fish I am trying to catch. There is nothing "comic" or "funny" about the AMAZING GOSPEL. In every way, it is reverent and serious, depicting the Gospel in a heart-rending manner. Just as film flashes individual images onto the screen, our mind interprets them as movement! With fewer images, the comic does the same thing — the story flows as though the reader was there.
